Program Description:
The CNA Acute Care Training is a course aimed at training Certified Nursing Assistants to assist with the care of patients in an acute care facility under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The training consists of 74 training hours: 48 hours of clinical training and 26 hours of classroom instruction. Upon successfully completing all the requirements of the course, each student will receive a Certificate of Completion.
This course is approved for 36 Continuing Education Hours by the California Department of Public Health NAC # 6779.
Admission Requirements
- Must hold an active CNA certificate issued by the Department of Public Health
- Be at least 16 years of age, a high school graduate or a GED equivalent
- Submit a complete Application for Admission which includes:
- A copy of a valid CPR card
- A completed medical exam report
- A copy of CA driver's license or an official ID
Career Opportunities
With a high school diploma and six months to one year of experience, CNA Acute Care graduates find employment as health-care assistants in specialty areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, surgery, medicine, obstetrics, orthopedics, and psychiatry.
